Easter 2025 Kart Specialty Feature

Gasworks Motorsports and Illabo Motorsport Park greeted Easter in style with a new initiative this year, inviting speedway karts to the field for a “Kart Specialty Feature”. 

The day had been long awaited, and well received, with the track seeing more karts than ever before. The club welcomed new drivers and veterans alike, and ran 4 classes of karts, with a further 2 classes of a vintage speedway cars. 

First on the agenda of course, was the traditional hunt for the kids at the beginning of the day, with a colouring in competition (thanks to sponsor by Milvale Road Child Care), resulting in easter eggs for all!

Lunchtime saw a great run of live entertainment, with the "old farts in karts" run, featuring some of our regulars along with a few of our amazing volunteers. The support from the crowd, and smiles on our volunteers faces were priceless!  Definitely something we will have to repeat.

The day wound up with all the drivers getting some great track time (great for the newbies and experienced karters alike) and a great day had by all. 

Huge round of applause to those who helped to bring the day together, and to all drivers and pit crew who took the time away to find a fun new way to spend easter!
