At the end of the lunch break at the final Illabo Motorsport Park Vintage and Kart event for 2025 a surprise presentation was made to the Junior Kart Drivers to acknowledge their commitment, motivation, sportsmanship, and promise towards Motorsport, especially at Illabo Motorsport Park.
The Junior Drivers are spilt between Novice and Advanced categories (and occasionally we have an Intermediate category running too), with drivers as young as 6 years old up to 16-17 years old. (ps: We have “Seniors” from 18-19 years old to mid-40s in Karts as well)
They are the future of Motorsport in Australia
Kerry Phelan, the founder of Gasworks Motorsport and Track Promoter for Illabo Motorsport Park, announced each individual award, while John Campbell, the Vice President of the Vintage Speedcar Association (NSW) presented the trophies to the kart drivers.
