Grants and Funding

The following organisations have generously provide grant funding to support Gasworks Motorsport Inc to develop our organisational capacity and improve the amenities available at Illabo Motorsport Park.

Australian Government - Visit

Thanks to the Australian Government's Volunteer Grant 2022/23 we received $4,989 funding that allowed us to purchase the following equipment to assist our volunteers to undertake various tasks at Illabo Motorsport Park:

  • Laser Printer for our Secretary

  • Assorted Catering Equipment

  • Outdoor Heating

  • A 244 piece 8-drawer Tool Chest Kit

  • Assorted Power Tools and Gardening Equipment

NSW Government - Visit

Thanks to the NSW Government’s ClubGrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants (Feb 2021 round) we received $125,000 in funding which saw us undertake significant upgrades to our Spectator Viewing Area. These upgrades included:

  • Doubling the size of the Spectator Area with new safety barriers and fencing

  • 180 seat Grandstand that incorporates four wheelchair bays

  • Shadecloth over the Grandstand

  • New Public Address System

  • New drainage works, assorted electrical and plumbing upgrades

  • Purchase of two Point of Sale systems

 

A new uni-sex accessible toilet block, along with the installation of a new septic tank and fencing, were funded through a $29,892 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program in 2020/2021. These new amenities are now regularly utilised by attendees to our own vintage speedway, speedway karts, and Khanacross events; as well as by attendees to the various equestrian events held at the adjacent Illabo Equestrian Arena.

TransgridVisit

Thanks to Transgrid’s Community Partnership Program we received $2,694 that enabled us to purchase new outdoor furniture for use in the Spectator Area at Illabo Motorsport Park

In the March 2024 round, we received $5,000 to enable us to plant 150 Australian Native Trees and Bushes at Illabo Motorsport Park.

Essential Energy Visit

Thanks to Essential Energy’s Community Choice program we have received funding for various upgrades to Illabo Motorsport Park.

With Community Choices 2021 we came in at Sixth Place for Zone 8, thus receiving $600 which was used to improve signage at Illabo Motorsport Park

 

Community Choices 2023 saw us win the Small Community category for Zone 8, thus receiving $1,250 which was utilised to purchase display equipment for our Canteen Area at Illabo Motorsport Park.  Small communities funding saw one $1,250 funding allocation per zone for a group who resides in a community with less than 10,000 people.

Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club Visit

Thanks to ClubGrants Category 2 Program 2022 round, we received $250 funding that enabled us to purchase child sized picnic tables so younger children have a comfortable place to eat their lunch and snacks when attending events at Illabo Motorsport Park.

 

The 2023 round then saw us receive $500 funding that enabled us to purchase a new display unit for our club branded merchandise.

In the 2024 round, the Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club generously provided $9,138 funding to allow us to undertake essential track drainage works, purchase some outdoor furniture for the spectator area and install additional Garden Beds and purchase of Gardening Tools.

Australian Auto-sport Alliance (AASA)Visit

The Australian Auto-sport Alliance has been established to be a service organisation to motor sport. Such service to be provided by avoiding red tape and unnecessary delay and utilising the Circuit Members’ offices as a “one stop shop” where motor sport participants can obtain permits licences vehicle passports and all necessary documentation.

Illabo Showground Land Manager — Visit

The Illabo Showground Land Manager manages the Crown Land Reserve No. 620025 at Illabo notified on 5-Nov-1926 for Showground. Illabo Motorsport Park in located within the Illabo Showground Precinct (which also incorporates the Illabo Showground Hall, Illabo Showground, and the Illabo Equestrian Arena)

Peter White's Speedway WorldVisit

2016 Speedway hall of Fame Inductee.

Sydney based journalist/photographer Peter White has been writing about Speedway for the past 50 years. He has produced - as a one-man band - the monthly newspaper Speedway World for over 30 years, which is Australia’s longest continuously running speedway publication. He also produces a Speedway Memories magazine, and has published a number of books on the sport including the Aussie Legends series.

 

Peter has also has managed speedway tracks both here and in England, and been a solo team manager for the Australian and New South Wales teams dating back to the 1960’s. He also raced Solos and Sidecars for five seasons, became a Motorcycling Australia referee, was track photographer at Parramatta for 5 years and has been a Speedway Star correspondent for 47 years. He never seeks the limelight, but gets the job done because of his love of the sport of speedway racing.
