Tuesday, March 2, 2020 saw Gasworks Motorsport complete the installation of a 15m x 11m shade structure in the spectator area out at Illabo Motorsport Park.
A club spokesperson said “This shade construction has been on our agenda for the past 3 years and given the considerable cost, we had made 3 separate grant applications since 2016 — unfortunately, none of which were successful 🙁 Not to be beaten, cap in hand we begged and borrowed to get the scope of works completed. Accordingly we owe a big THANK YOU to MPF Engineering in Junee who donated and constructed the materials, to Club member Peter Nell who supervised the Shade structure erection, along with the assistance from Mick’s Truck Crane & Bobcat Hire”
The project has been completed just in time for the Inaugural meeting for the Wagga Speedway Club at Illabo Motorsport Park, which will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
